The United States Chancery in Dhaka project included base building interiors, custom millwork and custom furniture for the new building, designed by Kallmann McKinnel & Wood of Boston.
Inspired by Louis Sullivan motifs, a series of terra cotta art walls and friezes were developed throughout various public spaces. Their design merged masterpiece of architectural ornament with local skill of brick making while reflecting the building’s brick facade. Custom designed chairs and tables drew from shaker style furniture construction methods, using locally available solid teak wood.
