Designed for a private investor, the project developed an existing commercial space in this luxurious residential tower into two residences: one three-bedroom and one two-bedroom units 2,000 and 1,400 square feet respectively.
Design details respect traditional sophistication while constructed with modern construction methods. The desired feel of historical style was evoked through the use of wainscot and crown moldings, custom convector enclosures and paneled doors. All panel sizes and their proportions are based on the golden section. At the same time past is flirting with present through the use of square edge detailing. Contrasting colors used throughout the apartment continue that dialogue and bring sparkle to the materials palette. Cove lighting softly washes living room ceilings, while obscuring the restricted slab to slab height. Stainless steel surfaces and appliances are used in the kitchens.
