Private Residence
475 Park Avenue, New York City
apartment plan Color and contrast dominated the design of this comfortable Park Avenue one bedroom apartment, while relentlessly practical solutions to miniature life tasks drove the design process and detailing. This straightforward and modern home preserves feeling of spaciousness. At the same time it accomplishes storage solutions by utilizing interstitial spaces, which are usually lost. While orking closely with the client, we brought into being space behind furniture, below kitchen cabinet toe-kick panels (usually blocked out and lost), behind wall paneling (and used it for shallow cabinets for guest coats and umbrellas), under windows, all and around hvac units and underneath the bed... just to name a few.
